UNMUTED: A Pandion Music Foundation Program
Unmuted embodies the Pandion Mission to make music education equitable, experiential, and empowering, where every young creator is seen, heard, and supported.
-
Unmuted is a quarterly music creator lab empowering girls and gender-expansive youth (ages 14–21) across Los Angeles. Created by Pandion Music Foundation, it offers an inclusive, high-impact space where young people learn to write, produce, and perform original music. Focused on serving under-resourced female and LGBTQ+ youth, Unmuted partners with schools and youth organizations to expand access to creative opportunities and support pathways into internships, ensembles, and college programs.
-
Each lab combines a 90-minute virtual session with a 3.5-hour in-studio intensive at Pandion’s Venice space, where students explore songwriting, beatmaking, vocal production, and live performance using professional tools like Ableton and Logic. Working side-by-side with artists and engineers, participants create and record original tracks and share their work in community showcases that highlight growth and collaboration.
-
Unmuted surrounds students with meaningful support: mentor office hours, a Creator Resource Kit (DAW licenses, gear lending library, EPK templates), and partnership-driven access to technology, equipment, and transportation. These wraparound resources allow educators and patrons to magnify impact—helping 60–80 young creators each year gain confidence, artistic skills, and a sense of belonging through music.
