OUR MISSION & STORY
As many meaningful things do, Pandion Music began as a spark of unexpected insight.
Across a great distance, three passionate artists, inspired by the unbiased nature of music and the possibilities for access and inclusion, a vision for progress was born.
Pandion Music Foundation is a women-led 501(c)(3) dismantling long-standing barriers in the music industry by equipping music creators and those pursuing music careers with the skills, knowledge, and support to build and sustain lifelong creative work.
Through free, inclusive workshops, mentorship, live instruction, and community programs, we open doors for emerging artists and aspiring industry professionals.
Especially those historically overlooked, including underserved youth, people of color, women, LGBTQ+ creators, and artists with disabilities. Our programs span the full spectrum of music careers, from songwriting and production to live sound, touring, and industry operations, helping participants discover their path and develop the skills needed to thrive.
Pandion was formed by three musicians, Rebecca in Los Angeles, Jordan in Melbourne, and Carls in London, who met during an online songwriting workshop in 2020. In a year defined by isolation, they found connection, collaboration, and a shared belief that music was meant to be accessible. Their conversations revealed the same truth across continents: countless creators lacked mentorship, community, and opportunity, not because of talent, but because of systemic barriers and limited access.
Together, they envisioned a different kind of music foundation.
One grounded in equity, creativity, and whole-person support. A place where cost is never a barrier, community is central, and artists feel seen, encouraged, and guided as they build sustainable creative lives.
Today, Pandion is both a creative home and a career catalyst. Our online and in-person programs empower people from any socioeconomic background to learn, connect, and grow from first discovery to professional development. As a fully donor-funded nonprofit, we ensure every resource we offer remains free, allowing talent, curiosity, and dedication—not privilege—to shape a person’s future in music.
Our mission: Pandion empowers emerging music creators and aspiring industry professionals through free education, mentorship, and community support, removing barriers of identity, income, and access so people everywhere can build confident, meaningful, and lasting lives in music.
“At The MLC, we’re all about empowering music creators, and Pandion Music Foundation shares that same passion. They play an important role in the music education ecosystem, helping ensure that passionate individuals—regardless of financial background—have the tools and opportunities they need to pursue their musical dreams and thrive in today’s music world.”
