ANAHI Cruz Bautista

Hailing from the Zapotec community of Oaxaca, Mexico, Anahi was immersed in the rich sounds of sones and jarabes—the distinctive music of the legendary region. With numerous uncles and cousins participating in local bands both in Los Angeles and Oaxaca, Anahi's passion for music was sparked at the age of 9 when she joined a youth band and embarked on her musical journey playing the alto-saxophone. Today, Anahi co-hosts 'LA SERRANITA' a podcast that places a strong emphasis on the significance of culture and community by engaging discussions with creators that are infused with music resonating with their ancestral roots in Oaxaca and the vibrant city of Los Angeles.
A UC Berkeley graduate, Anahi continues her quest to discover fresh opportunities that merge her profound love for music with her expertise in communications and marketing, all in service of supporting artists and their careers. Before connecting with Pandion Music Foundation, she served as the communications specialist for Momentum Solutions, a Los Angeles based marketing firm focused on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Having grown up surrounded by independent artists, Anahi deeply understands how crucial accessible resources are in making a significant impact on artists' careers and this draws her to the work of PMF.
We seek to support musicians around the globe by building a community of industry professionals and independent music creators across all lines of diversity and inclusion, where artists can access free educational and wellness resources and collaboration opportunities. Our commitment to diversity is reflected in Pandion’s leadership, with its women-led staff and Board.
